Why have CFU in Secondlife?

Education: We have a great opportunity to teach the general public about cystic fibrosis and provide valuable resources to people with cystic fibrosis.

Social Interaction: Because of the threat of cross-infection people with cystic fibrosis are encouraged to protect themselves by wearing masks and gloves when in contact with one another. People with CF are often required to have sputum tests to prove that they do not harbor cepacia and any other nasty bugs to attend CF education conferences and fundraisers.

While this danger is real in Real Life in Secondlife people with CF are allowed to freely interact with each other without those barriers. We have tried to make CF University a place where adults with CF can interact in a relaxed atmosphere with a student union, library, medical center, museum, theaters, bars, cafes, shops and dance clubs.
