American Sign Language Interpreters

Spencer will be presenting about his RL profession as American Sign Language interpreter.
He will cover:
- How to work with deaf suspects who may be arrested.
- How to work with deaf victims at the accident or natural illness during EMS service.
- How to work with deaf that have been harmed by natural disaster.
- How to obtain an interpreter.
- How to communicate with deaf while waiting for interpreters to arrive.
- How to work with interrpeters
- Why should we not use someone to interpret that may know a bit of sign language (like deaf parents' children or friends).
- What are your rights when using interpreters.
- What are the deaf person's rights when using interpreters.
This is a very important presentation. You may someday end up serving deaf people and you will be glad that you did attend this presentation. It is on Sunday at 12 PM SLT at Blue Angel Garden.
